Gene Expression Datasets for Two Versions of the Saccharum spontaneum AP85-441 Genome

Sugarcane is a species of tall grass with high biomass and sucrose production, the world’s largest crop by production quantity. Its evolutionary environment adaptation anthropogenic breeding response have resulted in complex autopolyploid genome. Few efforts been reported literature to document this organism’s gene co-expression annotation, and, when available, use different identifiers that cannot be easily associated across studies. This data descriptor paper presents dataset consolidates expression matrices two Saccharum spontaneum AP85-441 genome versions an algorithm implemented Python mechanically obtain dataset. The are processed from allele-level information sources, BLASTn used bidirectionally suggest feasible mappings between sets alleles, graph-matching optimization maximize global identity uniqueness genes. Association tables consolidate values alleles contributed comprise 96 experiments 109,050 35,516 versions. They can represent significant computational cost reduction for further research on, e.g., sugarcane network generation, functional annotation prediction, stress-specific identification.
